Receiving glowing acclaim from local and visiting art patrons throughout the 2015-2016 Scottsdale art season, this welcoming yet innovative space, showcases energetic and contemporary artwork.

Located in Scottsdale’s historically celebrated Old Town Arts District, one of the hottest art markets in the country, and on “America’s Original ArtWalk“, one can expect many, many visitors of the arts. With many visitors, comes many questions.

Here Jim answers some of the most common we get about him.

Q: Has Jim been always an Artist?
Jim: All my life, yes; professionally, no. I’ve always had an appreciation and always had a heart for art, but as far as being a professional artist, no.

Q: How long has Jim been an Artist?
Jim: I’ve been a professional artist for almost 5 years.

Q: How old is Jim?
Jim: Older than most.

Q: Is he local to Scottsdale or Arizona?
Jim: No, I’m a Colorado local.

Q: How Scottsdale become the home for your gallery?
Jim: That was a lengthy process. I visited different art districts in different cities from San Francisco to Denver and to Carmel, until I landed on Scottsdale, Arizona. I decided Scottsdale would be the home for JKlein Gallery because of it’s Arts District and that there were other family and long-standing galleries. It was a perfect fit.

Q: Does Jim see these images in his mind before he paints?
Jim: Most of them appear spontaneously. Before I paint, there could be a theme or idea that I’ll follow and sometimes I might paint something I see, but it can always change. It’s very fluid.

Q: Where do the images come from?
Jim: From within. We don’t know what is inside us, so it’s really hard to explain the source. But they come from within.

Q: What’s his inspiration?
Jim: Everything.

Q: How does he choose his colors?
Jim: I don’t, the colors choose me.
